Join the Texas Teen Book Festival Team!

The Texas Teen Book Festival is looking for enthusiastic, detail-oriented interns to join the TTBF team! Both positions are remote, unpaid, and valuable to those who are interested in publishing, journalism, public relations, and marketing. TTBF is an independent, nonprofit organization based in Austin that is dedicated to the execution of the annual Texas Teen Book Festival. The Texas Teen Book Festival internships begin March 1 and run through October 13, 2017. Texas Teen Book Festival Graphic Design Intern

The Texas Teen Book Festival Graphic Design intern works directly with the TTBF’s public relations director and with staff members from BookPeople and the Texas Book Festival to create digital marketing collateral that promotes the annual TTBF and its regular Festival announcements. Job duties include, but are not limited to, increasing social media visibility and brand awareness for TTBF.

 

The ideal intern will have the ability to produce images based on detailed written descriptions and be open to constructive criticism and feedback. The ideal intern will also have an excellent eye for design, colors, and basic knowledge of design principals. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop desired. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines a must!

 

Texas Teen Book Festival Social Media Intern

The Texas Teen Book Festival Social Media intern works directly with the TTBF’s public relations director and with staff members from BookPeople and the Texas Book Festival to promote the annual TTBF and its regular Festival announcements via TTBF’s active social media channels. Job duties include, but are not limited to, increasing social media visibility and brand awareness for TTBF. The ideal intern will have a firm grasp of social media tools and platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat.

 

The ideal intern will also possess the ability to communicate online with an audience of varying ages, including teens. Proficiency in all social media platforms desired, and a knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Publisher, and free online sites such as Canva a plus. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines a must!
