Another announcement today! Suzanne Young is heading to #ATBF13! We are big fans of THE PROGRAM (ugh, that cover is amazing) and the amazing A NEED SO BEAUTIFUL series!
What is your dream car?
Well, I’ve driven a Honda for years (very reliable), but I have to say my dream is to ride on the back of a Harley. Can we make that happen at the festival?
Is there a record where you know every word to every song?
Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill. (You, you, oughta know!) I had some boyfriend troubles my senior year of high school, and I’d switch between Alanis and Pearl Jam’s Ten. Seared the angst in my brain for life.
What’s the best thing you ditched school for?
In second grade, I skipped school with my older brother and we hopped the wall for the Utica Zoo and spent the day there. I cut a few times during high school, but the zoo was by far the best time.
In Texas it is illegal to milk another person’s cow. Have you ever milked a cow, or gosh forbid, another person’s cow without permission?
WHAT? No, I’ve never stolen milk from a person’s cow. What kind of person… I honestly can’t remember if I’ve milked a cow before. I feel like I should have, like it’s a requirement for someone who grew in a somewhat rural area. Let’s say that I did, and I’m just going to guess that it was pretty gross so I repressed it.

About THE PROGRAM:
In Sloane’s world, true feelings are forbidden, teen suicide is an epidemic, and the only solution is The Program.
Sloane knows better than to cry in front of anyone. With suicide now an international epidemic, one outburst could land her in The Program, the only proven course of treatment. Sloane’s parents have already lost one child; Sloane knows they’ll do anything to keep her alive. She also knows that everyone who’s been through The Program returns as a blank slate. Because their depression is gone—but so are their memories.
Under constant surveillance at home and at school, Sloane puts on a brave face and keeps her feelings buried as deep as she can. The only person Sloane can be herself with is James. He’s promised to keep them both safe and out of treatment, and Sloane knows their love is strong enough to withstand anything. But despite the promises they made to each other, it’s getting harder to hide the truth. They are both growing weaker. Depression is setting in. And The Program is coming for them.
September 28th is just around the corner! See you at the Austin Convention Center!
