You used to write letters to rock stars. What is the most ridiculous thing you ever put in a letter, and who was it to?
When I was eighteen, I sent a cassette tape of myself playing along to a song called “Stars” by Hum along with a note, to the band Hole, asking if I could be their new bass player. I’ll let you decide if that was naive and stupid or bold and brave.
