TTBF is not just about getting to hear from favorite authors and snagging a few great autographs. (Although, we admit, that’s pretty great.)

We’re also about encouraging our future creators…YOU!

This year we will once again be offering free writing workshops for attendees who register in advance. We’re welcoming back Barrio Writers and Badgerdog for two outstanding writing workshop opportunities, and we’re adding a filmmaking workshop to help guide young filmmakers for the 90-Second Newbery Film Festival!

Claim your spot today! Space is limited and time is growing short!

These workshops are open to teens age 13 to 18-years old.

90-Second Newbery Workshop Registration

Are you a young filmmaker looking for an opportunity to show off your skills?   The “90-Second Newbery Film Festival” is an annual video contest in which young filmmakers create videos that tell the stories of Newbery Medal or Honor winning books in about 90 seconds, usually with a weird twist — think “Charlotte’s Web” in the style of a horror movie, or “Holes” as a musical set in outer space. The best videos are featured in annual 90-Second Newbery Film Festivals around the country, including San Antonio on February 9!

In this session, James Kennedy will share the last seven years’ most entertaining 90-Second Newbery videos and talk about how YOU can make your own 90-Second Newbery video for this year’s extraordinary film festival.
