Teen Press Corps: How did you first get into writing?
Chandler Baker: Reading. She wanted to stay connected with books and become more involved with them.
Why did you study law?
Many lawyers are actually big readers and she didn’t think writing would be a career for her.
Is it difficult to write horror? Do you like horror?
She’s a scared-y cat; she doesn’t like horror. She writes horror so she can be a part of it without getting too scared.
How did you come up with the idea for alive?
She studied bioethics (the relationship between donors and the patients), and she thought it would be cool to write about how things that keep you alive can also kill you.
Why did you decide Stella and Levi were connected by a heart transplant? Why a heart transplant?
The heart is the resting place for emotions.
Do you like making videos?
Yes it’s a way to connect with people and allow them to explore different things.
Did you enjoy being a ghostwriter?
Yes it was like writing boot camp.
What is your favorite place or thing to do in Austin?
Kayaking on lake Austin and eating sushi.
