Jessica Taylor – #TTBF Author Interview – 2017

August 29, 2017 in TTBF 2017

1. Your book centers on the dynamic between sisters. Do you have a sister? And how did the answer to that question approach your approach to this story? I'm actually an only child. Surprise! Not having a real-life sister for comparison probably influenced the story in a subconscious way. Growing up, when I envisioned myself having a sister, she was always a larger-than-life, take-no-prisoners kind of character, much like Henri in A Map for Wrecked Girls. 2. What actor would play you in the movie version of your life? Here's my go-big-or-go-home answer: Meryl Streep. A girl shouldn't be afraid to dream. More realistically, I'd say Anna Kendrick. We're kindred spirits - two scrappy little nobodies. I'm rarely told I look like any celebrities, but when I do, people say they see a little of Anna in me. 3. TTBF’s new slogan is “Read Everything.” What book have you read that you’d like to see on our official Read Everything book list for 2017? The Disappearances by Emily Bain Murphy. It's stunning!
